Day at the Zoo

After my huge fan base practially stated that I HAD to update by blog, I did. You're welcome.
The day at the zoo is how I feel I normally run my house. My kids are wild and screaming. I repeat myself constantly and I am always feeding them. I feel I should have gotten that degree in Animal Science instead of Nursing, but Nursing pays the bills.

So after a month of being in Austin, we finally had a day that we all were off or not sleeping and went to visit the local zoo. The Austin Zoo is refugee based so that's neat, but the Gentry Zoo is bigger and has a lot more animals. Also, you drive the Gentry Zoo in the AIR CONDITIONING! We went on the first day of the summer that hit over 100 degrees. IT WAS HOT. I would love to say that the whole trip was how big brother taught his sister about the animals and showed her all the neat noises they make and so on and so forth, but.....................

this is mainly what happened. Brother climbed the fences to the point we thought he might fall in and laughed about it as we both quietly but firmly tried talking him out of climbing.

And little sister fussed about feeding all of her food the the first goats and then not having her "OWN" bag. She had to share with her brother. If she was paying attention, she would have realized that brother was too busy climbing and didn't use much of his feed.

I thought this parakeet was very pretty and nice. He whistled at me even though I was so sweaty and hot. He was polite!

This goat thought brother was funny, he has a smile on his face.

He told us very plainly, "I really don't like snakes!" But he was good enough to stop and take his picture with his scary eyes with this snake.

Sister and dad feeding the llama with brother's feed. She really like feeding all the animals.

Her favorite animal. The hog dear. It was a tiny dear with a hog nose that was about the size of a small dog. Maybe 30 lbs. It ate the rest of the food and she loved it.
We had a good time despite the weather. We had a few things to get past but once we got more feed, we did great. The kids enjoyed the zoo and animals but I think next time we will visit the San Antonio Zoo. I hear it is very nice with tons of animals.
